Woodbury Residential Home and Respite
Woodbury is a residential care service based in Surbiton made up of two parts:
- A residential home offering 24 hour care to adults with a moderate or severe learning disability.
- respite breaks
Woodbury is a large detached Edwardian property situated in a quiet residential area of Surbiton. It is well placed to access local transport links, shops and community facilities and amenities. Woodbury is a friendly home with 14 bedrooms and ground floor adaptations for service users with a physical disability, there is a respite facility on the ground floor.
Our service is based on the right to independence, choice and inclusion. Visitors are welcome at any time and regular inspections are carried out by the Care Quality Commission.
Our respite accommodation is a two-bedroomed residence offering short breaks for people with a moderate or severe learning disability living in Kingston upon Thames and who are physically able.
If you want to stay at Woodbury we will need to assess your needs in conjunction with a Care Manager from the local authority. We will talk about your support needs with you, family members and healthcare professionals involved in your care. Everyone has a gradual introduction to the respite service with tea visits. Long-term placements are confirmed after a three month trial.
As well as 24 hour support Woodbury works with residents to:
- Get out and about in the local community
- Make choices and support skills in daily living
- Develop social skills and networks through regularly held clubs and socials
